- I have not received a good explanation, says Adam Szambelan who opens and closes the bridges in Lake Mälaren.

He has received a substantial salary reduction with the latest procurement.

Aftonbladet was the first to draw attention to the conditions of the bridge guards.

Since the previous employer lost the contract with the Swedish Transport Administration, Sjöevent has taken over the operation.

Adam Szambelan joined the new company and has seven years of experience in the profession.

He talks to the rescue service, police and leisure boats - and without him no cars would be able to cross the many bridges that stretch across Lake Mälaren.

- After the last procurement, we got a new collective agreement.

With much lower OB compensation.

"Everything is the same - except the salary"

When the new company took over in 2018, the staff had to apply for their positions.

- It is the same tasks as before, the same place.

Everything is the same, except that the salary has been lower, says Adam Szambelan.

- It feels sour and bitter, you want the salary to increase when you are told year after year that you are doing a good job.

But here it is the opposite, says Adam Szambelan.

Hear him tell about the tours around the procurement in the clip above.
