The fire declared this afternoon in the Madrid town of Batres, and which has forced the eviction of several homes, continues to be active at this time and
49 fire crews are
working to extinguish it
, reports Emergencies 112 of the Community of Madrid.
Specifically, in the area there are 32 fire brigades from the Community of Madrid (25 land and 7 air), 6 media from Castilla-La Mancha (4 land and 2 air) 7 from the Madrid City Council (all land), a Fuenlabrada Fire Brigade and 3 State media (a seaplane and 2 helicopters).
The fire has affected an area of pastures, several houses in the municipality and even the roof
of the local church
has been damaged
.
The number of affected homes and the number of residents who have had to be evicted by the Civil Guard are unknown, but so far no injuries or intoxications have been registered.
The main concern is to control the flanks and the head and tail areas, and also confine the fire before the air assets have to withdraw due to sunset, the same sources report.
A job that is being complicated by the
prevailing wind in the area and the high temperatures.
The advanced command post of BomberosCM, which leads the operational direction of the fire, is being deployed at the
fairgrounds of the municipality of Serranillos del Valle, a town near Batres.
