Ken Loach, whose filmography takes the pulse of social convulsions since the 1970s, was also a figure in Labor.

For the 85-year-old director, this expulsion is a “

purge

”.

He refused to disown members who were already kicked out last month.

The reason given: they are "

not compatible

" with the values of the Labor Party.

In a series of tweets, Ken Loach reaffirms his solidarity with his comrades and denounces a witch hunt.

The current party leader and his clique will not get away with these kinds of methods.

"

There are many of us, they are few,

" he wrote, diverting the party slogan, suggesting the divide between the popular values of Labor and its policies.

'Starmer and his clique will never lead a party of the people.

We are many, they are few.

Solidarity. '

This is not the first time that the filmmaker has fallen out with the party.

He had already slammed the door 30 years ago out of disgust for Tony Blair.

He had returned after

Corbyn's

election

, but this support now puts him out of favor.
