In order to arrange the race, a maximum of 900 people had to be in the start and finish area at the same time.

Therefore, the race was divided into two starts, one at 11 and one at 13. In the first starting field, the elite and other fast-footed runners ran while the exercisers left two hours later.

- Last winter, it was forbidden to compete if you were not classified as a professional, so it has been a very small group of runners who have been allowed to compete.

So those who ran this morning have really longed to compete again, without being Sweden's best runners, says Lorenzo Nesi between the two races.

Lost exercisers

When it comes to exercisers, there are very many fewer registered in that group compared to 2019, which worries Lorenzo Nesi.

- Either you do not dare but wait, or you have simply lost this by running one race a year.

- At the beginning of the pandemic, I thought I had never seen so many people out walking and jogging, but in the last six months I have noticed that there are many, many fewer than it was then.

It is worrying, says Lorenzo Nesi.

"Looks like it worked well"

Lorenzo Nesi thinks that so far they have managed to keep the event corona safe.

- It is easier to arrange races in arenas, where you can check that restrictions are kept.

Now we had around 500 people in the first race and have tried to keep distance between them until the starting shot goes.

It is a challenge, but so far it seems to have worked well, says Lorenzo Nesi.
