Putin: Natural disasters this year are unprecedented

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his concern over natural disasters of an "unprecedented" scale this year in Russia, which is experiencing devastating forest fires in Siberia and floods in the south.

"The scale and nature of natural disasters in some regions is absolutely unprecedented," Putin said at a government meeting broadcast on Russian television.
