According to him, the new Israeli ambassador to Poland was soon to leave for Warsaw, but the Foreign Ministry recommended that he "continue his vacation in his country."
“Today Poland has turned into an anti-democratic, illiberal country that does not honor the greatest tragedy in the history of mankind,” the Israeli Foreign Minister said.
He added that the country is negotiating with US representatives on how to respond to the adoption of the relevant law.
In Lapid's opinion, in this case “it is impossible to be silent”.
“This is a shameful decision and a shameful contempt for the memory of the Holocaust.
Israel negatively perceives the adoption of the law ... Israel will not remain indifferent to such a step, ”he concluded.
The Polish parliament previously approved amendments to the legislation, according to which, after 30 years from the date of the administrative decision, including on the ownership of property, it will be impossible to challenge it.
On August 14, the document was signed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
