An arrest warrant was issued for Sergeant C, the perpetrator of the sexual assault and death of a Navy Sergeant.

The Naval Ordinary Military Court conducted a substantive examination of the warrant for Sergeant C at the Military Court of the 2nd Fleet Command in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province at around 10:30 am today (14th), and issued an arrest warrant for allegedly molesting a soldier.

Sergeant C was arrested and imprisoned in the Fleet Unconfirmed Prison Room, and the Ministry of National Defense Investigation Headquarters and the Navy's Central Investigation Unit plan to investigate the suspect while detained.

Previously, Sergeant C is accused of sexually harassing Sergeant B, a successor to the same unit as himself, at a private restaurant on May 27.

Sergeant B, the victim, was dispatched to the land unit at his request on the 9th, when the incident was officially reported, but was found dead at the dormitory on the 12th, three days later.

Sergeant B seems to have made an extreme choice after suffering from secondary assaults for more than 70 days.

The Navy explained the decision of the death toll to the bereaved family today, and said that they will be buried in the National Daejeon Cemetery after the funeral tomorrow.

Apart from the funeral, the sexual assault investigation continues.

In relation to the incident, the bereaved family said, "We want strict and strong measures against the perpetrators."
