Protect, a subsidiary of the Frankfurt AWO, wants to force the state parliament member Taylan Burcu (The Greens) to repay 41,000 euros.

"The lawsuit that has now been filed against me at the Frankfurt Labor Court had already been announced by the insolvency administrator in October," said the parliamentarian when asked.

"However, I reject the claims made against me and thus the lawsuit as unfounded." The Wiesbaden courier reports that the court wants to hear in mid-September.

The lawsuit is of particular interest because the black-green government coalition only has a majority of one vote.

Before moving into parliament, Burcu informed the state administration that he had been managing director of the Wiesbaden AWO subsidiary ProServ from May to December 2018. However, he later confirmed that he had received his gross salary totaling 41,000 euros from the Frankfurt AWO subsidiary Protect. The two companies belong to different district associations, they have nothing to do with each other. ProServ takes care of the cleaning of old people's homes and daycare centers, Protect should guard refugee homes in Frankfurt. The AWO issued invoices for this service well above the market level, and Frankfurt refused to pay. The public prosecutor's office is investigating suspected fraud and breach of trust. Because he had yet to set up ProServ, they have not yet been able to pay him, explained Burcu. It was therefore agreed that although he would be employed by Protect, he should only work for ProServ. He didn't get double the salary.

"Lots of hot air"

But there were two employment contracts.

One was taken out with the Protect and guaranteed Burcu his salary.

But he had introduced himself at the Greens' list party conference in April 2018 as the managing director of a non-profit company and thus got a promising place on the list.

This gave rise to a problem for Burcu when he moved into the state parliament after the outstanding result of the state elections in autumn 2018 and had to prove the stated professional status as managing director.

The AWO sent him the contract even though he had no professional training. Burcu attaches importance to the fact that he has performed the work required of him "fully and verifiably". Today's management of the Wiesbaden AWO sees it differently. As reported, the chairman Wolfgang Hessenauer stated in Burcu's presentation of his work “a lot of hot air”. He missed concrete proof of work. After all, Burcu "appeared". An upper middle class car was available to him for this. When Taylan Burcu was hired, his older brother Murat was still deputy managing director of the Wiesbaden district association.
