After three days in police custody, Rebecca Enonchong was released at the end of the afternoon on Friday.

This Cameroonian businesswoman, prominent economic figures on the African continent,

was prosecuted for "contempt of court"

.

His arrest sparked a wave of indignation, which has gone viral on social networks.

Because in addition to being a leading leader, this woman is one of the most critical of the power of Paul Biya.

According to his defense, the Attorney General of the Republic has just dismissed the proceedings on the grounds of “

inappropriate prosecutions

”.

This is only justice for his lawyer, Sylvain Oum: “

We have worked to ensure that his voice, his cause is heard, so I am proud that we have reached a solution.

It is a completely fabricated offense, Rebecca is a very well educated person, she cannot insult anyone and especially not against the magistrates.

She wanted to demonstrate it and she succeeded in demonstrating it

Barely released, Rebecca Enonchong thanked on the social network Twitter the thousands of people who mobilized.

"

The mobilization on social networks has helped relay the message we wanted to convey, and I think the message has passed, the result is there

", rejoices Sylvain Oum.

The entrepreneur and human rights activist in Cameroon Edith Kahbang Walla who was in court yesterday tells us her relief, but reminds us that there are many other Rebecca Enonchong in Cameroonian prisons.

We are very relieved [...] But we are also angry to have had three days during which Cameroonians all over the world were mobilized simply because there was abuse of power.

Rebecca Enonchong is a name, someone very well known.

But there are tens of thousands of Cameroonians in this situation who do not enjoy the same fame and suffer from the same injustices.

So we are determined to keep fighting for them.
