The Department of Education and Knowledge has identified six cases to allow students to be absent during the new academic year, provided that a letter is submitted to the school signed by the parent or guardian, or an official document that proves and explains the reason for the absence for the entire period, while allowing specific employees to work remotely for health reasons, and demanded schools to provide The necessary support for students of determination and their families in the event that their distance education continues.

The necessary support must be provided for students and their families to obtain educational resources according to their needs and levels, and the attendance and absence of students are monitored accordingly.

The department indicated that the school should communicate immediately with the student’s guardian in case the student is absent without an excuse or if his cumulative absence rate is 10%, or less than 10% according to the school’s policies, while the students’ families are required to notify the school in advance of any planned absence. And provide the documents required to prove it.

She pointed out that when exempting any student of determination from returning to school, in order to ensure his health and safety or the safety of other students, employees or members of the community, the school must provide a comprehensive and clear educational material to ensure his continued academic, social, behavioral and psychological development during his distance learning period. The needs of the student and the requirements of his guardian must also be taken into account when making any decision regarding the student, and all necessary to be done to accommodate students of determination in the best manner.
