In June, a complaint was received about sexual harassment of a female noncommissioned officer at the naval unit in the West Sea area.
It is the same unit where Sergeant B, who was found dead yesterday (12th), worked.
It is known that the circumstances of the sexual harassment were discovered during the interview between the commander and the unit members.
It was that a consular officer belonging to this unit made sexually humiliating remarks to a female noncommissioned officer from February to June and entered the female executive's quarters without permission, claiming to feed the cat.
As a result of the self-investigation, most of them were confirmed to be true, and the Navy explained that two days after the interview with the commander, the commissioned officer was dismissed and transferred to the land unit.
During the investigation by the 2nd Fleet's military prosecution, it was also revealed that this officer sent a sexually harassing text message to a female noncommissioned officer.
At the time when Sergeant B, who made an extreme choice, suffered sexual harassment and secondary assault, sexual harassment took place against another female non-commissioned officer in the same unit.
In the case of this officer's sexual harassment against a non-commissioned officer, the perpetrator was separated and the investigation was carried out immediately, but Sergeant B was not protected for more than 70 days.
The Navy has announced that it will severely punish the misconduct of the consular officers in accordance with the laws and regulations.
