The theme for this year's World Pride is "you are included" and for the first time, World Pride and Euro Games are being held simultaneously and in the same place.

For eleven days, visitors will be invited to everything from inclusive water polo in Copenhagen to spontaneous weddings and workshops on human rights in Malmö.

- This work has been going on since 2016. It means an incredible amount, I usually compare it to an Olympics or the World Cup.

It is truly an international platform to make visible the fight for the rights of LGBTQIA + people, says Anna Tenfält, project manager for World Pride Malmö.

World Pride House

At World Pride House, which takes place at Malmö Live Concert Hall, visitors will be able to participate in workshops and courses related to politics, sexuality, health, family and violence.

In Folkets park in Malmö, workshops, activities and conversations are arranged for young people throughout the festival.

In addition, art exhibitions and performance performances are offered.

- I am quite convinced that everyone can find something in our program this year that suits them.

Everything from lectures to culture, to art, to parties.

There really is something for everyone, says Anna Tenfält.

One of the highlights of the festival is the two-day event Inclusive Sports Forum, where one of the guest speakers is former football star Lotta Schelin.

During the event, they want to highlight the inclusion of LGBTQIA + athletes in sports.

- Sports really need to work more with inclusion issues.

This is an area that we have unfortunately not come this far in, says Anna Tenfält.

Over 20 sports

Sports yes, in Copenhagen you take that track and Euro Games are arranged around the Danish capital.

At Euro games, all athletes are welcome to compete against each other, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Over 20 sports, ranging from water polo to football, will be practiced in Copenhagen.

Malmö's contribution to the Euro Games is figure skating which takes place at Malmö Ice Stadium.

Secret artists

The corona-secured inauguration that takes place on Thursday night at Malmö Stadium will offer a pride parade with 500 people.

2,500 people are welcome in the stadium's stands to witness an evening with Rickard Söderberg as parade announcer, speeches from the Minister for Gender Equality Märta Stenevi (MP) and performances from three secret artists.

- These are Swedish artists, says Anna Tenfält, project manager for World Pride Malmö without wanting to reveal more than that.

This is what pride looked like in Malmö last year.
