The Constitutional Court decided the annulment of the results obtained by Abdou Karim Meckassoua.

She pronounced her forfeiture as the nation's deputy.

The Court firstly justifies its decision by highlighting Abdou Karim Meckassoua's relations with armed groups in its report of June 25.

It also puts forward a notice of legal proceedings from the current investigating cabinet number 1 for complicity in breach of state security.

A decision taken and announced in the absence of the President of the Court and several other judges.

Me Sombo Dibele, Abdou Karim Meckassoua's lawyer, protests saying that it is a political decision, unfounded in law.

She considers that the request was filed outside the legal deadlines.

The experts' report is not a legal text, she stresses.

And to recall that this same report had been rejected by the public authorities.

The lawyer also points out that the first round in this constituency in December 2020 had been canceled for lack of ballots in the polling stations.

Abdou Karim Meckassoua, influential member of the PK5, was several times candidates for the presidential election.

He is the former president of the National Assembly.

He was dismissed in October 2018 following a petition brought by members of Parliament accusing him of embezzlement and favoritism.

No national recourse is possible for the defense of Abdou Karim Meckassoua.

However, she is considering seizing the African Court of Human Rights.
