The State Duma commented on the idea of ​​increasing the minimum wage to 20 thousand rubles

According to the deputy, there is a methodology for calculating the minimum wage and living wage, which changed last year.

The parliamentarian clarified that now the minimum wage does not depend on the subsistence level, which in turn does not depend on the consumer basket.  

“Today we calculate the subsistence minimum and the minimum wage from the median average per capita income, the average per capita wage of the population.

And they make up the corresponding share - 42% of the corresponding average indicators.

Of course, these are not large shares and they need to be increased ... But the specific size must be calculated, it cannot be assigned.

Calculate together with the Ministry of Finance, together with the government, in order to understand what changes we need in the budget of the Russian Federation, ”Bessarab added.

Earlier it became known that a group of State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction and Senator Sergei Leonov on August 11 will submit to the lower house of parliament a bill to increase the minimum wage (minimum wage) from January 1, 2022 to 20 thousand rubles a month.
