I woke up at more than 3 in the morning and rushed to the nucleic acid test site to start volunteer work. I was busy until more than 9 in the evening. Recently, Cao Wei, a Taiwanese university student who lives in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, experienced the meaning of "being a star and wearing a moon" in the fight against the epidemic.

As of August 11, Yangzhou has reported a total of 448 local confirmed cases.

At 6:30 that day, Yangzhou launched the sixth round of large-scale nucleic acid testing in the main urban area.

The people of Yangzhou are united in the fight against the epidemic, including many Taiwan compatriots who call Yangzhou their home.

Cao Wei, from Taoyuan City, Taiwan, lived with her parents in Yangzhou since she was a child. For her, Yangzhou is already her second hometown.

After the outbreak, Cao Wei, who was taking a summer vacation at home, responded to the voluntary initiative and became a volunteer at the local nucleic acid testing site.

Whenever Yangzhou launches large-scale nucleic acid testing, volunteers must be busy from morning to night.

Although hard work, Cao Wei felt very fulfilled.

She said: "The nucleic acid test site is in order, and everyone will consciously follow the guidance of the volunteers. Our protection is in place, and my parents support my work. My mother also expressed her opinion. If I can't participate in voluntary work for something, she will do it for me. I am on top."

In addition, Cao Wei also said that due to the impact of the epidemic, the lives of residents are inconvenient, and the community takes the initiative to provide services at their doorsteps and treats Taiwanese compatriots equally.

"The service of the community eliminated the worries of our Taiwan compatriots and made me more motivated to devote myself to volunteer work."

After the outbreak in Yangzhou, Guo Hongxing, chairman of the Taiwanese Association of Baoying County in Yangzhou and chairman of Baoying Jinyuan Group, immediately arranged for the company to donate more than 300,000 yuan (RMB, the same below).

He introduced that the Taiwanese Friendship Association issued a proposal, advocating that Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwanese family members should invest and contribute, and that compatriots on both sides of the strait should work together to deal with the epidemic.

"Everyone is very positive. You donated 2,000 yuan and I donated 5,000 yuan. Although the single amount is not high, it is all our heart. We also formed a team of volunteers for the "cross-strait concentric" to exert their strength in the fight against the epidemic. "

Affected by the prevention and control of the epidemic, the transportation of sweet pears on the market in Jiangning District of Nanjing City was not smooth and sales were slow.

After learning about it, Huang Lijia, chairman of Taiwanese firm Shifeng Group, immediately contacted fruit farmers to buy more than 100 boxes of sweet pears, and drove them to the front-line anti-epidemic personnel in Jiangning District together with their employees.

Huang Lijia said: "The current situation of epidemic prevention and control is severe. It is my heart to donate fruits to front-line staff of epidemic prevention. Pears are not expensive, but they represent the feelings of compatriots on both sides of the strait."

In Kunshan, where many Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises gather, the Taiwan Services Office of the Kunshan Development Zone issued a recruitment letter to Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwanese for volunteers for epidemic prevention and control. The staff of the Taiwan Service Office told the China News Agency reporter that in just a few days after the recruitment letter was issued, nearly 30 Taiwanese compatriots have signed up, and the number is still increasing. Among the volunteers are Taiwanese company executives, young entrepreneurs, students, etc. Some Taiwanese families and even several generations have joined the battle. At present, volunteers from Taiwan compatriots walk the streets and alleys to distribute masks for free every week, and remind people to insist on wearing masks in public places and correct irregular mask wearing methods to help fight the epidemic.
