The number of hospitalizations of Covid-19 patients continued to increase in hospital on Tuesday, rising above 9,100, while the number of people in critical care is also increasing.

According to data from Public Health France, 9,153 people were hospitalized on Tuesday, against 9,022 the day before.

The number of new admissions in 24 hours is 944.

Critical care services, which receive the most serious cases, count 1,712 Covid-19 patients on Tuesday, 45 more than the day before.

The number of new admissions rose to 211 in 24 hours.

The health situation has particularly deteriorated in Martinique, subject to strict confinement and in Guadeloupe.

New measures could be taken on Wednesday to combat the spread of the virus.

Guadeloupe could be re-defined.

In Metropolitan France, the White Plan was launched on Tuesday in all health establishments in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

It is the fourth region to apply this measure after Corsica, Paca and Occitanie.

The number of new infections in France in 24 hours amounts to 28,576, with a stable positivity rate at 4.3%.

The number of deaths since the start of the epidemic stands at 112,403, including 85,862 in hospital and 68 in the last 24 hours.

Regarding vaccination, "45,289,566 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 67.2% of the total population) and 37,840,706 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 56.1% of the total population)", according to the Ministry of Health.

68.2% of the adult population is fully vaccinated.
