The Head of State spoke on Wednesday morning on the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic.

He assured that the health crisis "is not behind us" and that it will last "another several months".

Emmanuel Macron was also concerned about the situation in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Emmanuel Macron alerted this Wednesday, by opening a Health Defense Council, on the "dramatic situation" of the epidemic in the West Indies, where "the increase in contaminations results in an explosion of serious forms" of Covid-19 and a saturation of hospitals.

"An emergency scenario is before us today", this situation "implies the unconditional solidarity of the Nation" and offers "the cruel demonstration" that "vaccination is the most effective means" against the virus, underlined the Head of State during this Defense Council by videoconference from Fort Brégançon (Var). "The health crisis is not behind us" and will last "for several more months", Emmanuel Macron warned.
