• Conference on Libya in Berlin: "Away with all foreign forces"

August 10, 2021Rida Faraj Fraitis, chief of staff of one of Libya's two deputy premieres, was kidnapped last week in the capital Tripoli by gunmen, the United Nations reported this evening, expressing "deep concern". 



"Unidentified gunmen abducted Mr. Fraitis and one of his colleagues on August 2 after he visited the premises of the National Unity Government (GNU) in Tripoli," reported the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (Unsmil ). 



"The fate and whereabouts of Fraitis and his colleague remain unknown and UNSMIL fears for their safety," the mission added in a statement.
