Saudi Arabia raises the capacity for Umrah pilgrims to 60,000 per day

Today, Tuesday, the Grand Mosque witnessed the influx of pilgrims from inside Saudi Arabia to perform the rituals of Umrah, after raising the capacity to 60 thousand pilgrims, over eight operating periods per day.

Today, Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" stated that permits were issued to perform Umrah through the "Umrah and We Trust" applications, amid an integrated system of services and preventive measures.

According to “SPA”, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, with the concerned authorities, facilitated the process of regulating the entry of pilgrims to the Great Mosque of Mecca through specific doors, and in accordance with precautionary measures and the application of physical distancing, while performing Umrah through virtual paths and specific locations in which they perform prayers.

The Assistant General President-designate, Under-Secretary-General for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the affairs of imams and muezzins, Saad bin Muhammad al-Muhaimid, explained that early preparation was made by preparing the corridors of the Grand Mosque, the courtyard and courtyards, and its readiness before the influx of pilgrims.

Al-Muhaimid affirmed the readiness of all field leaders in the Grand Mosque, where the performance of the operational plans will be monitored and evaluated by the leaders to achieve the goals and provide a safe and sound environment, pointing to the readiness of human and mechanical capabilities in a healthy and safe environment that meets international health standards.

A member of the National Committee for Hajj, Umrah and Visitation, Hani Al-Amiri, revealed yesterday that raising the capacity of pilgrims, starting today, to two million pilgrims per month, will contribute significantly to the recovery of the Umrah sector and the increase in accommodation indicators in hotels.
