Just before Christmas 2020, the Board of Education in Stockholm revoked the Al-Azhar Foundation's permit to run a preschool due to financial difficulties.
The Al-Azhar Foundation appealed the decision but now the administrative court rejects their appeal.
- Tomorrow, August 10, we will close the two preschools run by the Al-Azhar Foundation, says Isabel Smedberg-Palmqvist (L) school councilor in the city of Stockholm.
The opposition welcomes the decision and says that they have long pointed out that the two preschools have had financial problems.
- We welcome this decision because we want serious principals who conduct children and youth activities, says Kadir Kasirga (S) opposition mayor.
