The berry buyer Sylve Björkman has 50 years of experience from the berry industry and has many berry pickers who work for his company in Västerbotten.
According to him, we can expect a normal year for blueberries in Västerbotten.
Maybe better than that, even.
- There was no rain during the end of the cloudberry season, so some blueberries have dried away, but where they grow, it grows abundantly.
It will not be a bad blueberry year, at least a normal year, says Sylve Björkman.

The berry buyer advises looking for blueberries in places where the sun has not reached.
On northern slopes or in older forests where it is damp on the ground.
Avoid clear-cutting or bogs.
- The berries in Västerbotten are currently small because it has been so dry.
But if it rains, they will swell and become heavier.
For the lingonberry, it could be a really good year.
- It's a little difficult to say already now, but it looks to be good.
