The IPCC report expected on a planet plagued by extreme weather events

The eagerly awaited 6th report of the International Group of Experts on the Climate (IPCC), will be unveiled this Monday, August 9.

Some 234 authors around the world have worked on it for the past four years.

Conclusions that fall, while extreme climatic events are currently devastating the planet.

Unheard of droughts in the American West, devastating fires in Turkey, Greece or even in Siberia, domes of heat, large-scale floods ... As announced for 30 years now by experts, extreme climatic events follow one another and each year increase in violence .

A full chapter will be dedicated to them in this 6th IPCC report.

A report to finally act

This Monday, August 9, the first part is published: an update of the latest scientific knowledge on climate change.

The others devoted to the consequences and adaptations of these phenomena will be made public in 2022. 

This crucial report should allow political decision-makers to stop talking about science, but about climate policy.

They will meet in Glasgow in November 2021 for COP26, the World Climate Summit. 

Especially since the objectives set in 2015, of reducing greenhouse gases and limiting global warming to 1.5 ° C ... were absolutely not respected, on the contrary we are moving towards an increase in the global temperature of 3 ° C.
