Earlier, the Russian Supreme Court rejected Grudinin's complaint against the Central Election Commission's refusal to admit him to the State Duma elections.

On July 30, Yuri Afonin, deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, said that the party had appealed in the Supreme Court against the exclusion of Pavel Grudinin by the Central Election Commission of Russia from the federal list for elections to the State Duma.
