The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a fight in Folkets Park on the evening of 1 August.
According to the police, he had been subjected to fist violence, but was then judged not to have life-threatening injuries.
- He died last Friday, says Nils Norling, press spokesperson at the police in Malmö.
According to prosecutor Christoffer Östlind, it is not clear whether it is the assault that is the cause of death.
- The forensic doctor can tell us that, but the man never left the hospital, he says.
Several witnesses saw the incident, but the prosecutor does not want to say what came out in the interrogations with them.
- I also do not want to comment on whether we have anyone suspected or not in the case, says Christoffer Östlind, prosecutor.
