Tunisia implements large-scale COVID-19 vaccination campaign

  Xinhua News Agency, Tunisia, August 8th (Reporter Huang Ling) Tunisia implemented the largest COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the country on the 8th, and plans to complete 1 million doses of vaccination on the same day.

  The operation was jointly implemented by the Tunisian Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of National Defense. A total of 335 vaccination points were set up across the country to vaccinate Tunisian citizens and foreign residents over the age of 40.

In order to facilitate the vaccination of people in remote areas, the Ministry of Transport of Tunisia also provides free shuttle services in various places.

  On the morning of the 8th, the reporter interviewed several vaccination spots in the capital of Tunisia and saw that many people lined up to wait for the vaccination. Security personnel were at each vaccination spot to maintain order.

  Tunisia officially started the new crown vaccination work on March 13. As of August 7, the number of people vaccinated was 3.29 million.

Massadi, a member of the Scientific Committee to Fight the New Coronary Epidemic, said on August 8 that the Tunisian government hopes that more than half of the country's more than 11 million people will be vaccinated by mid-October.

  The Tunisian Ministry of Health said on the 7th that the country has prepared sufficient vaccines to meet the needs of all eligible vaccinators and will provide vaccinations for people under the age of 40 from mid-August.
