China News Agency, Paris, August 8th (Reporter Li Yang) On the 8th local time, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in France exceeded 6.3 million.

According to the latest statistics, the incidence of COVID-19 in most provinces across France exceeds the alert threshold.

According to official epidemic data released on the evening of the 8th, there were 20,450 newly confirmed cases in France in a single day, and the total number of confirmed cases exceeded 6.3 million, reaching 6,305,158.

The cumulative number of deaths in France is now 112,250, with 30 new deaths.

At present, the number of inpatients with the new crown in France is 8,685, an increase of 25% from the figure three weeks ago; the number of severely ill patients is now 1,556, an 81% increase from the figure three weeks ago.

The number of hospitalized patients and critically ill patients may continue to increase in the future.

The latest statistics show that the incidence of new crowns in most provinces in France exceeds the alert threshold.

The COVID-19 incidence rate across France has now risen to 230 infected persons per 100,000 inhabitants, which is much higher than the alert threshold of 50 infected persons per 100,000 inhabitants.

At present, only two provinces have not exceeded this warning threshold, namely Creuse in the New Aquitaine region and Mayotte in the overseas province.

The outbreaks in the French overseas territories Martinique and Guadeloupe continued to worsen. The incidence of new crowns in the two places was 1158 and 1586 infected persons per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively.

The French BFM TV station reported that the evacuations of patients from the two places to Paris and other major French cities may not be enough to contain the epidemic.

French Health Minister Vilan said on the 8th that all civilian and military resources will be mobilized and the first batch of medical staff will be dispatched to Martinique and Guadeloupe from next week to support local hospitals to fight the epidemic.

The new French anti-epidemic measures will come into effect on the 9th, including expanding the use of health passes.

Weiland reiterated that by expanding the scope of health passes and speeding up the new crown vaccination, it should be possible to avoid re-imposing curfews or "closures" measures.

According to official data, 44.73 million people in France have been vaccinated with at least one dose, accounting for 66.4% of the French population; 37.23 million people have been fully vaccinated, accounting for about 55% of the French population.
