08 August 2021 He was walking with his wife and daughters, the youngest in a stroller, along via Ermete Novelli, a street in the center of Bergamo near the train station and Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, the avenue leading to the Upper Town, when Tayari Marouan, Tunisian 34 years old, he accidentally bumped into a twenty-year-old Italian: a question and answer was born, at the peak of which the youngest went up to his house, nearby, took a switchblade and, went back down to the street, hit in the chest the thirty-four year old.



A clean blow, which reached the heart and which was fatal for the father of the family, who died within a few minutes in front of his desperate wife and two daughters. The drama took place around 1.15pm today, not far from the lower Bergamo carabinieri barracks, which is located right in via Novelli: in fact, the carabinieri arrived at the scene of the murder within a few moments.



The alleged attacker had gone away, but was quickly tracked down by the Arma soldiers and arrested: with a clean record, he fell ill while he was in the carabinieri barracks and was transferred to the Pope John XXIII hospital in Bergamo for a check . The investigations are coordinated by the deputy attorney on duty, Paolo Mandurino, who is speaking in via Novelli with the carabinieri.



The state police with their own cars and the local police are also on site: there are many onlookers, since the road is in the center and close to the places of passage frequented especially on Sundays, viale Papa Giovanni, but also piazzale degli Alpini and the stations of trains, trams and buses. No one, other than the victim's family, would have witnessed the attack, on the precise dynamics of which the carabinieri started the investigations of the case, thanks also to the intervention of the scientific department arrived from the provincial command in via alle Valli for the surveys on the road and on the sidewalk theater of the tragedy, right in front of the building where the twenty-year-old lives who was tracked down and arrested for the murder. The road, which is one-way for cars, being quite frequented mainly by pedestrians,was closed to traffic to allow the intervention of rescuers. First of all, the 118 health personnel: the doctor tried for a long time to revive Tayari Marouan, but there was nothing to do and, in the end, he had to ascertain his death.



Only at 5.30 pm, after all the surveys were completed, the body was taken to the morgue. She will likely be autopsied. The thirty-four-year-old had lived for many years in Terno d'Isola, in the Bergamo area, with his family, where he was fully integrated. The switchblade used for the murder was recovered by the Arma military and placed under seizure for further scientific investigations.
