A report has been received by the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (IVO) against a probationary doctor who previously worked at a health center in Dalarna.

According to the report, the doctor must repeatedly endanger patient safety by over-prescribing drugs, lack of communication skills and inaccuracies in administrative tasks.

Drug-affected mother

According to the report, a well-known drug-addicted woman must call the health center under the influence of drugs when child cries are heard in the background.

The health center then made a report of concern to the social services committee, but the very next day the doctor must have prescribed sleeping pills to the mother.

The majority lack in their professional practice

The doctor is involved in seven deviations from a notification in 2019, four of which concern over-prescribing of medicines.

The care provider in Dalarna has submitted nine deviations to the doctor within one month.

The doctor's probationary period has not been extended.
