In France, protesters marched in several cities across the country yesterday - the fourth weekend in a row - denouncing what they see as repressive rules that oblige them to obtain vaccinations against the Corona virus against their will and to produce a health certificate stating that in order to carry out daily activities.

The demonstrators marched in the streets of Paris, Nice, Montpellier and other cities, holding banners that read "No to dictatorship" and chanting "Macron, we don't want your health certificate."

The demonstrations unite a disparate group of protesters against President Emmanuel Macron's legislation aimed at helping contain a fourth wave of "Covid-19" infections in France and support the country's economic recovery.

Among the protesters are left and rightists, elements of the anti-government "yellow vest" movement that shook Macron's leadership between 2018 and 2019, and citizens who refuse to receive the vaccine or consider the health certificate a form of discrimination.

Other European countries have implemented the idea of a health certificate, which states that a person has obtained a vaccination or a recent examination that proves negative infection with the virus, but the French certificate and orders to compel health workers to obtain the vaccine are the most comprehensive.

Despite this, thousands demonstrated in the center of the capital, Rome, and the cities of Milan and Naples, against the health certificate and for “freedom”, and about 100 people gathered in Naples for the same purpose, chanting “Hands off the children” and “Shame, shame.”
