Australia was at the forefront last year in managing the Covid crisis.

But the Delta variant, which appeared about two months ago in Sydney, has plunged the country back into the reality of the pandemic.

The number of new cases is not decreasing in Sydney, which is however entering its seventh week of containment, Melbourne and the state of Victoria are also re-confined, for the sixth time since the start of the pandemic.

The only solution, according to the authorities, is vaccination, access to which is increasingly facilitated.
