- A person must have been found in the water from the ship.

A person with a life jacket who clings to a sea mark, says Marcus Clemert, assistant sea rescue leader.

It then turned out that a person had fallen overboard from the ship as an alarm.

- When we picked him up, he was wearing a work suit.

Then we asked the staff on the ship to count over their men and it turned out that one person was missing, says Lars Nilsson, assistant sea rescue leader.

Unclear circumstances

The rescue service arrived by boat at the scene shortly after 14. The man was then severely chilled.

- A chilled person has been taken care of by boat and is now on his way ashore to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, said Gustaf Sandell, internal commander at the Rescue Service South, in the afternoon.

The police arrived at the scene to assist the rescue service.

- We will talk to the man at a later stage to bring clarity to why he has ended up in the water, says Patric Fors, the police's press spokesperson.

The ship was on its way to Karlskrona.
