At 00:00 Moscow time on August 7, 180 forest fires were active on the territory of the Russian Federation on an area of ​​1,285,404 hectares, on which work was carried out to actively extinguish, "the publication says.

The department noted that Yakutia suffered from fires more than other regions - the area of ​​fire in the republic is 1.1 million hectares.

The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolayev, previously appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to assist in introducing amendments to the Labor Code that could allow firefighters to work overtime and receive compensation for this.
