The department noted that Yakutia suffered from fires more than other regions - the area of fire in the republic is 1.1 million hectares.
The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolayev, previously appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to assist in introducing amendments to the Labor Code that could allow firefighters to work overtime and receive compensation for this.
