China's second comprehensive scientific investigation and study on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Second Qinghai-Tibetan scientific expedition) "The History of Human Activities and Its Impact" scientific expedition team went to Anduo County, Tibet to complete the surface soil of the 4561-meter plateau lake Zigetangcuo on the afternoon of August 5th. Sampling, this scientific expedition mission ended smoothly.

  The scientific expedition leader and researcher Hou Juzhi of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency on the shore of Zigetang Co Lake on the same day. He said that by August 5, the surface soil sampling on the shore of Zigetang Co. The mission has been completed. This scientific expedition has investigated more than a dozen typical plateau lakes, focusing on the collection of sediment samples from 3 lakes. It is estimated that the oldest samples may reach 30,000 to 40,000 years ago. Provide basic data on the environmental background of human activities in the prehistoric and historical periods of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

  Hou Juzhi emphasized that the Qinghai-Tibet scientific expedition is a long-term and continuous basic research work. From 2010 to now, the research team has conducted investigations on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau every year. In the future, the Qinghai-Tibet scientific expedition will continue every year. The study of environmental changes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau lays the foundation for the establishment of the scientific theory of the earth system.
