Libya and Turkey agreed, during the visit of a large Turkish delegation to the capital, Tripoli, to enhance cooperation, and the two sides also discussed the implementation of the agreements previously concluded between them.

The Turkish delegation met with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, the President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, a number of members of the Council, and the President of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri.
The delegation included Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, Chief of Staff Yasar Guler, Intelligence Chief Hakan Fidan, Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin, and Head of Presidential Communications Fahrettin Altun.
Dabaiba discussed with Turkish officials joint training programs in the security and military fields.
The media office of the Government of National Unity stated - in a statement - that the two sides discussed the latest developments regarding memoranda of understanding and agreements concluded at the meeting of the Libyan-Turkish Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation, and ways to put them into practice.
The statement stated that the Turkish side expressed its willingness to provide its expertise and technical support in the field of elections.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a discussion on the "Berlin 2" conference on Libya, to be held on June 23, according to the same statement.
The meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister's Office in Tripoli, was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, Naglaa Al-Manqoush, the Minister of Interior Khaled Mazen, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant-General Muhammad Al-Haddad, and a number of security and military leaders.

Bilateral cooperation and the Libyan political track
During his meeting with the Turkish delegation in Tripoli, Al-Manfi stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation opportunities and developing relations with Turkey.
The President of the Libyan Presidential Council discussed with the Turkish Foreign Minister the “Berlin 2” conference to be held on June 23, and support for the political track in Libya, and they also discussed unifying regional efforts for an international consensus that supports Libya’s stability, security and unity.
For his part, Cavusoglu stressed the continuation of Turkish-Libyan cooperation in the fields of training security and police institutions, demining, combating irregular migration and organized crime.
In turn, Khaled Al-Mashri, during his meeting with the Turkish delegation, stressed the need to hold the elections on time on December 24, and the need to ensure the integrity of the elections, and to punish those who obstruct them.
Al-Mashri stressed during the meeting - who also addressed the "Berlin 2" conference - the right of the people to say their word in the draft constitution prepared by the Constituent Assembly.
Last April, the Prime Minister of the Libyan National Unity Government visited Turkey, and met with the Turkish President. At that time, the two sides signed several agreements mainly related to the reconstruction in Libya, noting that the two countries signed in November 2019 a military cooperation agreement and another to demarcate the maritime borders.
