The spread of infection in Stockholm continues to increase for the sixth week in a row.

This means that the city is now red on the map of the European Infection Control Agency ECDC.

According to the ECDC, there are between 75 and 200 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

For Sweden as a whole, the risk level is at an orange level.

The colors on ECDC's map are based on a combination of the number of new cases in the last 14 days and the proportion of samples tested positive for covid-19.

- For me, it is a clear reminder that the pandemic is ongoing and that Stockholmers must be vaccinated as soon as they can, says Jenny Stenkvist, assistant infection control doctor in the Stockholm Region.
