Mexico won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics men's soccer tournament on Friday, beating Japan 3-1.

In Saitama, the Mexicans, crowned in 2012 in London, deprived the host country of third place by scoring three times on stopped phases

The teammates of goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, 36, opened the scoring with a penalty from Sebastian Cordova (13th).

The attacking midfielder gave Johan Vasquez the second goal from a free kick, whose plunging head deceived goalkeeper Kosei Tani (22nd).

Alexis Vega added a third goal with a header from a corner from Cordova (58th).

Kaoru Mitoma reduced the score with a nice sequence, hook and powerful strike from the left (78th).

The final of the tournament will oppose on Saturday Brazil, titled at home in Rio in 2016, against Spain, where six players who participated in the last Euro play.
