The public prosecutor's office in Koblenz has started investigations against the district administrator of the Ahrweiler district, Jürgen Pföhler (CDU), because of the flood disaster around three weeks ago.
The authorities and the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office announced on Friday that there was an initial suspicion of negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm by failure to do so.
In addition, another member of the crisis team is being investigated.
