He recalled that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection exceeded 200 million - the spread of the pandemic is increasing due to social contacts, inconsistent health measures and unequal vaccinations. 

The WHO Director General criticized the current situation in which physicians in low-income countries "do not receive the vaccine", while in other states residents who are not at risk of serious illness are vaccinated.

Based on data from Johns Hopkins University, the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the world has exceeded 200 million. In total, 4,252,958 people have died from complications caused by coronavirus.

Gebreyesus also announced the need to introduce a temporary moratorium on additional vaccinations against coronavirus infection COVID-19.
