The US president on Thursday August 5 signed a decree so that half of the new vehicles sold in the country by 2030 will be emission-free.

He has the support of the bosses of the big groups and of the powerful automobile union.

Joe Biden also announced new, stricter rules on fuel consumption and fuel performance in cars.

Rules that had been relaxed by Donald Trump, much less concerned with climate issues.
