This was reported by the press service of the Institute of Oceanology.

“The expedition is designed to solve urgent scientific problems of a wide range of physical, biological and geochemical processes in the Russian Arctic,” it was reported.

It is noted that among other tasks, one of the main ones will be the study of global warming and the analysis of the spread of plastic pollution in the Arctic.

This project is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Endowment Fund of the MIPT and is timed to coincide with the Year of Science and Technology.
