Umm Al Quwain Fishermen provides a workshop for fishermen to maintain their equipment

The Fishermen's Cooperative Society in Umm Al Quwain provides the necessary support to its members, through the fishermen's workshop, which focuses on the maintenance of marine machines, fishing boats, cranes, and others, while providing a number of services to fishermen, such as maintenance and free repair of machines, and the provision of all necessary parts in their warehouses.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Jassim Hamid Al-Shar, said that the Association always seeks to develop the infrastructure of the fishing sector, in line with the rapid changes and meets the needs of fishermen.

He pointed out that the workshop provides services for the maintenance of equipment and rehabilitation of boats at nominal prices for all members, which enhances the great support they receive from the association's management, to help them and save them large sums of money.

Al Shar explained that the services provided in the workshop aim to raise the level of services and provide the necessary support to the fishing profession, which enjoys constant care and attention from the state, in addition to solving obstacles and facilitating the requirements of fishermen for the development of fisheries wealth in the emirate.

He said that the workshop was equipped with all the necessary equipment and tools, to improve and speed up the completion of the required engine maintenance work, which leads to attracting a number of fishermen to join the work in this profession, which is the profession of parents and grandparents.

Al-Sharr confirmed that the workshop has accomplished a lot, during the past five months, in maintaining nearly 480 boats with all their equipment, and it works in two shifts, morning and evening, to ease the burdens on fishermen.

He said that the association created this workshop to repair machines and maintain boats by providing cranes, in order to assist fishermen in transporting equipment, as well as providing the requirements and practical needs of the association’s members of fishermen after monitoring their proposals, noting that the workshop carries out the tasks of logistical support, maintenance and repair of boats, and promoting Communicating with and guiding fishermen, in addition to selling the profession’s supplies at reasonable and competitive prices to those offered by the shops.
