A four-meter-high fence runs along the entire 260 km long border line between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Construction began in 2017 and was completed in June this year.

In addition to the fence, the border is also mined, which makes it very risky to try to get past.

This means that the Afghan civilians who are trying to escape the Taliban's offensive are now becoming internally displaced.
