The minister said that "the Sputnik V vaccine is currently undergoing a so-called sequential examination at the European Medicines Agency (EMA)."

According to him, in April - May, "the EU members visited medical institutions in Moscow involved in clinical trials of Sputnik V, as well as production sites."

Lavrov said that EMA employees are in direct working contact with representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“According to our information, there are no comments on the vaccine itself and the degree of its effectiveness.

We proceed from the fact that the issue is in the plane of a depoliticized and professional dialogue between specialized structures, ”the Foreign Minister added.

Earlier, the EC recognized the vaccination certificates of San Marino, where Sputnik V is used, as valid in the EU.

Later, the EC clarified the situation with the recognition of San Marino's vaccination certificates.

It was noted that the recognition by the European Commission of the vaccination certificates of San Marino, where the Sputnik V vaccine is used, does not mean the approval of the Russian drug in the European Union.
