“Mr. President, we appeal to you in the hope of your assistance in resuming our cooperation within the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Presidential Administration of Russia,” the text of the letter says.

As noted, the assistance of the Russian leader "is also extremely necessary in the organization of joint media, cultural and social projects."

The letter emphasizes that "the only correct way is to build truly open and good bilateral relations based on real consideration of the interests of the parties."

Inashvili also accused the Georgian authorities of "creating the illusion of a desire to regulate relations with Russia, while in reality they are trying to cut down on any attempts to regulate bilateral relations at the root."
