- I think it is remarkable that it should be so difficult to follow a fairly clear set of rules anyway, one meter is very clear.

And I also think it is remarkable that people, the public, do not seem to care, says Monika Gerdhem, head of department at the Environmental Administration in Stockholm.

In July alone, just over half of the 480 inspections carried out in Stockholm led to a remark, with 68 fines imposed as a result.

The Environmental Administration's top list for fines imposed this year includes Ångbåtsbryggan on Strandvägen, which this year was fined five times.

"Did not have time"

- I would like to say that it is not us who have been wrong in the furnishing or taken in too many guests, but rather it is the guests' behavior during the evening where our staff simply did not have time to reprimand the guests, says Stefan Söderman, CEO of Ångbåtsbryggan.

It is not just the distances between the parties at the restaurants that constitute a congestion problem at Stockholmskrogarna.

The environmental administration has recently received reports of congestion in the form of dancing - and SVT has also taken pictures and videos of club-like conditions in restaurants and restaurants.

Should get police help

Today, the inspectors only have working hours until 11 pm - and therefore they have not encountered these situations during the inspections as the dance floors often occur later in the night.

Therefore, the Environmental Administration is now reviewing its routines, the inspectors will both have extended working hours and get help from the police.

- Based on what I have seen in the pictures, it is a fairly extensive situation that we must have support with the help of the police and so on, so it is a lot to rig, says department head Monika Gerdhem.
