In the past 24 hours, China has recorded 96 cases of Covid-19, 71 of which developed locally. It is the highest number of infections since last January, a slight increase compared to yesterday's 90 infections. The eastern province of Jiangsu, where Nanjing is located, the epicenter of the new wave of the epidemic, is the scene of almost half of the new cases (35) while Hunan, another area strongly affected by the return of the virus, has another 15 cases ascertained, according to the latest update of the Chinese National Health Commission. The Delta variant also frightened Wuhan, the first city in which the covid occurred, which yesterday recorded nine other cases of contagion: the authorities ordered a swab for all eleven million inhabitants and imposed the first lockdowns since the end ofisolation of the city in April 2020. In addition to the confirmed cases, another 15 asymptomatic infections are added, counted separately from China. In total, since the beginning of the epidemic, the confirmed cases are 93,289, while the number of deaths remains stable at 4,636.



Thailand: 20,200 new cases and 188 deaths, a record toll

New record of coronavirus infections and victims in Thailand. In Brazil 32,316 cases and 1,209 deaths 

In the last 24 hours, 32,316 cases of Covid-19 and 1,209 victims have been confirmed in Brazil, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The total number of Brazilian cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 19,985,817 with an official death toll of 558,432. However, as vaccinations increase, daily deaths decrease to a third of the more than 3,000 per day recorded in April.



In Mexico 18,911 cases and 657 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health of Mexico has recorded 18,911 new cases of Covid-19 and 657 deaths in the last 24 hours. The toll since the beginning of the pandemic is 2,880,409 infections and 241,936 deaths. Mexico is the fourth country in the world with the highest number of deaths from Covid-19, behind the United States, Brazil and India, and is the sixteenth in the number of confirmed infections, according to the count of Johns Hopkins University.
