A woman in her 20s has been arrested by the police for brutally assaulting an elderly Korean couple who runs a beauty supply store in Cleveland, USA.

On the 30th of last month local time, foreign media such as Fox News reported that Ebony Afzal, the perpetrator of the assault in Cleveland, Ohio, was charged with felony threats and second-degree assault.

Afzal, 25, tried to pay 11.85 dollars (about 13,000 won) with a credit card at a beauty supply store run by a Korean couple in their 60s on the 23rd of last month, but when the payment could not be made due to insufficient balance, he began to act.

The Korean couple explained, "I can't give you the goods because the payment has not been completed," but Afzal did not back down, shouting, "I am just going to take my belongings. I am not a beggar."

Eventually, when the couple said they would call the police, Afzal began to use violence, throwing everything from the store shelves to the floor.

The surprised couple came out of the store to deter Afzal, but instead became victims of indiscriminate assault.

It is known that the husband was severely beaten and injured, bleeding from his mouth, and his wife was also dragged by her hair in Afzal.

Afzal, who destroyed the shop, fled.

David Cho, the couple's son, said, "I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the CCTV footage of my parents being dragged on the floor.

The police released Afzal's face and CCTV footage filmed by an elderly couple at the time of the incident, and issued a wanted order.

In the published mugshot, Afzal appeared with a wide smile without feeling guilty, which caused outrage.

A local court set Afzal's bail of $75,000 (about 86 million won).

Even if they pay bail and go to trial without detention, we have issued a restraining order to prevent access to the victims, the Korean couple.
