03 August 2021 The appointment was this morning at 10 at the departure station of the Stresa-Mottarone cable car, in Lido di Carciano. In the same place where the race of booth number 3 started that Sunday 23 May, the crash of which cost the lives of 14 people.

But bad weather limited the probative incident on the site of the tragedy. The parties, about forty experts, consultants and lawyers, after the appeal at the departure station of the plant, stopped since last May 23 due to the accident in which fourteen people died, agreed to examine only the intermediate station and that of arrival of the cable car.

It is therefore likely that due to bad weather, the examination of the crashed cabin, the rope and the melted head, will be postponed due to rain and low clouds: it is dangerous to venture up the mountain.

The broken steel rope is always in the sights of the investigators. "Let's inspect - the lawyer Marcello Perillo explains to reporters - the top station of Mottarone. If the weather conditions allow it we will go down to see the cabin and the broken rope and then we will see the intermediate station at the Alpino." "The examination of the rope - he added - is of absolute importance".

On the 30th of August, however, the assessment of the so-called black box is scheduled.

On the liability front, there are now fourteen suspects listed in the request for an evidentiary incident, dated 1 July: they are twelve individuals and two companies, Ferrovie del Mottarone, owner of the cable car and Leitner, which took care of the maintenance of the system. All are charged with the crimes of manslaughter and negligent injury; the two companies are administratively liable for manslaughter and serious or very serious injuries committed in violation of the rules on the protection of health and safety in the workplace. The twelve suspects are also charged with the crime of attacking transport safety.
