Mr. Akiba, Director of the National Security Bureau, met with India's National Security Assistant over the phone and agreed to continue to work closely with each other to further promote the Free and Open Indo-Pacific.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, Akiba, the director of the National Security Bureau, had a telephone conversation with India's National Security Adviser Dobal for about 20 minutes for the first time since taking office last month.

At the beginning, Mr. Doval congratulated Director Akiba for his inauguration.

They also keep in mind the bilateral cooperation between Japan and India, the further promotion of the free and open Indo-Pacific, and the framework of four countries called "quads" that add the United States and Australia to both countries. We exchanged opinions on cooperation with "comrade countries" and agreed to continue to cooperate closely.
