Three years of attempts to increase travel on the Krösatågen between Halmstad and Nässjö have not yielded the desired results.

A consultancy inquiry proposes that Region Halland should close down the investment, but retain and develop the part of the section that runs between Halmstad and Hylte.

An investment in the route could mean that the train runs once an hour on weekdays and that it would take a maximum of 45 minutes to travel between Halmstad and Hylte.

New stations are then needed to be built in Hyltebruk and Åled, as well as a new location for the station in Oskarström.

The proposal is estimated to cost SEK 150 million.

It is more expensive than just having buses on the route, but Ronny Löfquist thinks there are advantages to the train.
